Salvador Dalí – Melting Clock on Black Base

An iconic piece of surrealist art! This licensed, hand-painted 3D miniature of the famous melting clock is inspired by Salvador Dalí’s masterpiece The Persistence of Memory. It brings Dalí’s fascinating artistic world to life in a distinctive decorative piece. Measuring 8 cm in height, it comes beautifully presented in a gift box.

The original painting is renowned for its dreamlike atmosphere and its unmistakable melting clocks. Set in a barren, almost otherworldly landscape, with the golden cliffs of the Catalan coast in the background, Dalí challenges our conventional perceptions of time and reality.

The distorted clocks appear to melt like liquid. Dalí famously described them as the “camembert of time”, evoking the fluid and unstable nature of time in dreams and altered states of consciousness. The mysterious, amorphous figure at the centre of the painting is often interpreted as a possible self-portrait.

By masterfully combining hyperrealistic details with fantastical elements, Dalí created an intriguing, almost surreal scene. This iconic work continues to captivate viewers and inspire reflection on time, memory and the way we perceive reality.

A striking decorative accent for art lovers and an original gift for anyone fascinated by surrealist art.
