Curtis Jere is the copyrighted company name for the two artists Jerry Fels and Curtis Freiler, who worked and designed together in the late 1950s, through to the late 1970s. Together they created beautiful metal wall sculpture designs and manufactured them, by hand, in their studio. As the work became more popular they started to employ skilled craftsmen to produce their designs for them, all to their very exacting standards. Early Curtis Jere sculptures are now becoming increasingly popular and much sought after by collectors. They work perfectly in contemporary or traditional interiors and are very much `on trend` at the moment, with the massive swing back to the retro look.
For more than 40 years, Artisan House has crafted an extraordinary collection of metal wall art and sculpture for home and hospitality settings. Whether figurative or abstract, each work is crafted from fine metals including copper, bronze, brass, steel and chrome and finished with paints, patinas and textures. And because each is made by hand, no two are exactly alike. But each one shares the distinctive C. Jeré signature - a mark of authenticity sought after by art collectors and interior designers alike.
For more than 14 years Decovista has been the sales point in the Netherlands for Artisan House wall decorations. By now (2024) Artisan House has stopped manufacturing these unique objects, as it did before around 1980. For a long time, it was only possible to purchase a work of art through antique dealers or auction houses. It is not clear whether the wall sculptures will be offered again in the future. We still have some of these special works in stock, but once they are sold, you can only fall back on the offer from private collections.
