Mary Frances started her business in the late 1980's embellishing handbags as gifts.  She originally embarked on her post corporate career in jewelry design, but found a wonderful unmet niche in the handbag category, and so her vision evolved.  She crafted bags that were gorgeous and provocative, but aspirationally attainable for the average woman.

Mary Frances handbags are hand-made from a mix of materials such as fabric, artificial leather, suede, plastic, stone, rhinestones, sequins, beads, chains and other metal elements. The composition for each bag is different.

On the outside you will find a metal tag, on the inside a stitched Mary Frances label. They come with a numbered certificate of authenticity, some spare beads and a breathable storagebag.
